The Interesting Stuff
Lia is originally from Chile and is a native Spanish speaker. She is an early childhood educator with more than 20 years of experience and a deep passion for accompanying children during their early years with respect, warmth, empathy, and trust. She is currently studying Psychopedagogy, continuing to deepen her understanding of child development and the many different ways children learn and grow.
Her professional journey includes experience in public schools and Montessori schools in Chile, as well as working closely with families and sharing tools that help bring Montessori principles into the home. Throughout her life, Lia has followed many different paths alongside children, learning from each experience and volunteering in literacy programs and in support of children and families in underserved communities.
As a Yoga teacher, Lia incorporates yoga and mindfulness with children and adolescents, including experience working with adolescents on the autism spectrum. Her passion for well-being has also led her to care deeply about those who educate and support children every day. In Chile, she participated in the creation and development of a wellness and movement-break program for teachers in local public schools, using yoga and mindfulness tools to help reduce stress and support educators’ physical and emotional well-being.
For Lia, education is about so much more than teaching. It is about being present, observing, listening, and accompanying each child with sensitivity, while honoring their individual rhythm, personality, and unique story. She deeply believes that every child deserves to feel safe, valued, and loved, and that when children feel respected and supported, they are free to discover all that they are capable of becoming.
In her free time, Lia enjoys walking, practicing yoga, doing crafts, and, most of all, spending time with her family. She loves discovering new places and having experiences that allow her to keep learning, and then sharing those discoveries and lessons with her children.
