The Interesting Stuff
Luciana is originally from Brazil and has more than 24 years of experience working with children, including 21 years as a teacher in Brazil, primarily with Toddler and Preschool-aged children. During her career, she was introduced to the Montessori philosophy and developed a strong connection with its respectful, child-centered approach to education.
Since moving to the United States in 2019, Luciana has continued her professional journey in Montessori environments. She especially values the way Montessori encourages independence, confidence, curiosity, and respect for each child’s individual pace. For Luciana, one of the most rewarding parts of being an educator is watching children discover what they are capable of doing on their own, develop new skills, overcome challenges, and experience the joy of learning.
Today, Luciana is part of the Montessori Escuela team in Wayland, where she works with Preschool-aged children as a Co-Lead. She is happy to support each child’s development and help create a warm, prepared environment where children can grow with confidence and independence.
Outside of school, Luciana is married and the mother of a daughter and a son. She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, watching movies, going out to restaurants, and simply enjoying special moments together.
