The Interesting Stuff
Mario is originally from Chile and has built a diverse professional journey shaped by hard work, commitment, and a constant desire to learn. For more than 25 years in Chile, he worked in various technical and security-related fields, including electrical work, high-voltage antenna installations, locksmithing, and security systems for ATMs in the banking sector.
Three years ago, Mario moved to the United States with his wife. About a year and a half ago, he had the opportunity to begin working at a Montessori school. This experience opened a new and inspiring path for him. He found in education a motivation to continue studying, developing new skills, and growing both personally and professionally.
Through Urban College, Mario completed a Child Development course required by the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC), successfully completing the requirements and obtaining his teacher certification. Inspired by his experience in the Montessori environment, he continued his education at the International Montessori Studies Center Montessori Sin Fronteras, where he successfully completed his Montessori Preschool Guide training (ages 0–6) and earned his certification.
For Mario, early childhood education is one of the most important tools for building the future of humanity. He believes that supporting children during their early years means helping them grow into more sensitive, confident, independent individuals who are connected to the world around them.
His connection with children began many years ago. In Chile, he volunteered in different children’s communities, served as a Scout Guide, and worked as a basketball coach with children and adolescents in vulnerable situations. Through these experiences, he supported young people in finding new opportunities and positive alternatives in the face of substance use and social vulnerability. These experiences taught him the importance of listening, guiding, encouraging, and believing in each child’s unique abilities.
Mario has a deep passion for music and a natural ability to learn independently. He enjoys exploring different instruments, including piano, melodica, cuatro venezolano, and especially guitar, which he considers one of his greatest passions. In his free time, he also enjoys playing basketball, hiking, spending time with his children, and supporting them in whichever hobbies and interests they choose. For Mario, sharing these experiences with his children is another opportunity to keep learning and discovering the world together.
