The Interesting Stuff

Tatiana Menares is originally from Santiago, Chile. She has always had a natural affinity and special connection with children and has found great fulfillment in teaching, accompanying, and guiding them during their early years.

Tatiana discovered Montessori more than 20 years ago, when she began studying and working in Montessori education. Since 2007, she has dedicated her professional career to working with children within the Montessori philosophy, continuing to deepen her knowledge and experience throughout the years.

What she values most about Montessori is the deep respect it has for each child. Tatiana believes that every child has unique abilities and should be given the opportunity to develop them at their own pace, while respecting their individual needs, timing, and rhythms. For her, Montessori is much more than an educational methodology—it is a philosophy of life. It is something that is learned, but also something that stays with you throughout life, shaping the way you see, understand, and accompany others.

Tatiana especially enjoys working with young children because they are loving, curious, playful, and have an incredible ability to learn quickly. Their joy and companionship bring happiness to her heart and continue to inspire her every day.

Tatiana has been living in the United States for three years. She is the proud mother of a wonderful 13-year-old son. Outside of education, she enjoys listening to music, reading, and spending time with her son and friends. She also loves knitting and creating amigurumi, a beautiful Japanese crochet technique that has become one of her favorite hobbies.

After nearly 20 years working in Montessori education, Tatiana continues to feel a deep passion for her profession. She describes herself as a caring, dedicated, and committed teacher. The love and connection she receives from the children remind her every day why she chose this profession. After so many years, their affection continues to show her that she still has many more years ahead to be by their side, accompanying them, learning from them, and giving her very best during such an important stage of their lives.
